Our Story

The Town of Maidstone prides itself on ‘Small town friendly, big town services’. Maidstone was founded in 1905 & incorporated in 1955, located at the crossroads of Highway 16 & 21 we are situated in an oil rich area, with agriculture being our main industry, the new G6 grain terminal which is being built here reflects this. We are a population of 1200 people and growing, 400 of those are children who attend our Elementary and high school. We have a huge amount of well-maintained clubs & activities in town for all ages, in the winter months people can enjoy the skating rink & curling rink and in the spring & summer months we have 3 excellent ball diamonds, a splash park, Museum and new in 2018 a 9 hole/basket Disc Golf Course, plus all the places which are open all year round such as our local library, bowling alley & parks including Delfrari park which is open as a campground in the summer months. The town is very well serviced with the new RCMP detachment built in 2016, 2 banks, a post office, SGI, 2 gas stations & a liquor store, we also manage to cater for all your automotive needs with a garage, glass repair business, tire shop & car wash.
The town has a great variety of business as well, Keranda for all your industrial needs, AG foods for groceries, a local pharmacy which also has a selection of home goods, Video Junction our local SaskTel provider, Fields general store, 3 hairdressers, local plumbers & electricians. When it comes to take out or eating out, there are several local restaurants to choose from for a sit down meal as well as a local bar & Hotel. One of the things we pride ourselves on is the excellent health care facilities which we provide with in Maidstone, there is a hospital as well as medical clinic where you can see a doctor 7 days a week as well as a pharmacy which is open 6 days a week to pick up prescriptions. We have several different levels of care available for the elderly as well and a group home. If you decide to make Maidstone your home then know that you are coming into a warm welcoming town with everything you could possibly need right here on your doorstep.
