Our Story

If you've never been to Marmora and Lake, you need to take a day trip. Really.

On Saturday mornings people love to visit our Farmers' Market for fresh baking and produce. The door is always open at Bruce's old-fashioned barber shop. Archvies the cat sits in the window of our Historical Foundation. Kids play at the local park and splash pad. Residents shop the downtown and visit the local library and Community Hub.

Life here is quiet, simple and relaxing. It's exactly why people who used to live and work in the city are relocating to work remotely or retire where they don't have to worry about long commutes, heavy traffic, noise and skyrocketing living costs.

Located midway between Toronto and Ottawa, Marmora and Lake is home to beautiful Crowe Lake, Crowe River and Beaver Creek. It boats a beautiful municipal park with multi-use trails. It's home to many successful service groups, a curling club and hockey league, a great baseball program, two schools and a medical centre. It's a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, campers, cottagers, boaters and day-trippers. It's home to families whose ancestry can be traced for many generations.

The residents in our community are proud of Marmora and Lake, and want to see it continue to flourish. Our municipality welcomes new investment and is always looking for entrepreneurs to take a chance on our great little community.

Hop in your car and find out why everyone is leaving the city. Come wander.
