Our Story

Neligh, Nebraska truly is "Not too small to have it all." We epitomize the quality of life you expect from small-town Nebraska, the neighborly attitude is our way of life.

The seat of Antelope County, located in Elkhorn River Valley in the northeast section of Nebraska, Neligh is a fantastic community to either expand or start the business you’ve been dreaming about. Neligh is positioned between two major and well-maintained highways, NE 14 and U.S. 275.

Defined by a spirit of tenacity and entrepreneurship, Neligh is home to over 160 individual business owners. Neligh has a vibrant and distinctive aura of entrepreneurship. This desire to build and own has seen Neligh to significant growth in the past 5 years. Since 2012, Neligh has welcomed 28 new businesses and transitioned an additional 14 businesses to new ownership.

Antelope County is a great tourist attraction between Northeast and Northcentral Nebraska. You can plan days of fun and activity within and near to Antelope County. Start your day at the Neligh Mill State Historic Site; built by John Neligh in 1873, the Neligh Mill is the only mill in Nebraska that retains the original equipment in its entirety. Then visit the Antelope County Museum to learn the history and adventure of Antelope County; while there, stop by the Pierson Wildlife Museum and Learning Center for a one-of-a-kind, world-class taxidermy display which includes the Big Five, the Grand Slam, a western black rhino, and over 100 full body mounts of other big game trophies from around the world. After lunch at one of Neligh's eateries, drive up to Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historic Park and witness an active dig for the fossils of hundreds of prehistoric animals preserved in volcanic ash. The Visitor Center features interactive displays along with a working fossil preparation laboratory. Finish off the afternoon back in Neligh with a round of Golf at Antelope Country Club, or take the family to Riverside Park and cool off in the Neligh Pool. After a fun-filled day, enjoy two movies for the price of one as you relax and relive nostalgia with the entire family at the TK-Starlight Drive-In Theatre! Open since 1952, the TK-Starlight is one of two operational drive-in theatres within Nebraska, and the only digital projector drive-in capable of showing newly released films! After you and your family are tuckered out you can stay at one of our hotels or round out your one-of-a-kind experience by camping in your choice of the beautiful parks Antelope County has to offer.
