Our Story
The Municipality of Pembina, including the LUDs of Darlingford & La Riviere and the town of Manitou is located on #3 highway 35km West of Morden MB or 150km West of Winnipeg.
With fertile farmland, agriculture is our main industry. We have beautiful wooded areas are home to deer, moose, and small mammals while several bodies of water provide sanctuary to a variety of waterfowl.
As a caring community where nearly everyone knows one another, Manitou offers a secure, friendly environment for children, the elderly and the disabled.
The town's rural lifestyle blends with modern conveniences including grocery, hardware and variety stores, a bakery, pharmacy, lumberyard, banking institutions, educational facilities, service stations, farm implement dealerships, restaurants, a motel, and a variety of churches.
Shaded picnic areas, and serviced camping facilities are available in Manitou & La Riviere. A licensed nine-hole golf course, kiddie's playground and a new swimming pool complex are nearby. Winter brings lots of activity to the multi-purpose arena, curling rink, ski-resort and groomed snowmobile trails.
